About Us

Private Power Services is a locally owned utility line construction company serving Maine and New Hampshire. We built this company around a simple idea: people should have a skilled, affordable option for getting power where they need it, backed by experience, honest guidance, and quality work they can trust.

Over the years, we have grown into a company that can take on substantial projects while still keeping our “small local company” values. We’re just as happy to help a homeowner as a housing development. That balance matters to our customers. They want a team with the manpower, equipment, and expertise to get the job done right, but they also want real communication, thoughtful guidance, and people who take the time to understand their project. That is a big part of who we are. We have the experience, equipment, and manpower to get the job done, but we still believe in being staying accessible, responsive, and easy to work with.

Built on Experience

Private Power Services was founded in 2015 by Hector Picard, a first-class lineman with 20 years of experience at CMP. After years of seeing how difficult and expensive it could be for property owners and contractors to get new or updated power service, Hector saw an opportunity to offer another option – one that delivered the same level of professionalism and safety, but with more flexibility, more personal attention, and a more affordable path forward.

From the beginning, the company was built on hard work, attention to detail, and doing what you say you are going to do. That foundation is still very much in place today.

A Company that Has Grown the Right Way

After 10 years of building the business, Hector and Janet Picard assembled a team that shares the same commitment to workmanship, customer service, and pride in the work. With that growth came the opportunity to strengthen the company even more by bringing in two additional partners – Hector and Janet’s son, Dylan Crommett and Jozie Audet. Together, the three owners help make sure projects are planned and completed efficiently, communication stays strong, and customers can have confidence they have a team behind them from start to finish.

This is one of the things that makes Private Power Services different. Our customers are not being handed off into a maze of departments or left trying to track down someone who can help them with their project. Here, the people leading the company stay directly involved – when we say an owner is on every jobsite – we mean it!

Hector Picard

Founder/Owner
Head of Operations

Hector founded Private Power Services in 2015 after 20 years as a first-class lineman with CMP. He built the company around the idea that property owners and contractors should have a better option for power line work – one that combines professional skill, strong work ethic, and a more affordable approach. His experience in the field, attention to detail, and commitment to doing the job right continue to shape the company today. He and his wife, Janet, continue to run the operations today.

Jozie Audet

Co-Owner
Project Estimator & Designer

Jozie Audet is a co-owner of Private Power Services and brings nine years of experience as a lineman. He is often the first point of contact for customers, meeting property owners on site, assessing the land, planning new jobs, and helping determine the best way to safely and efficiently bring power where it is needed. Jozie lives in Raymond with his wife and two daughters, and when he is not working, he enjoys family time, golfing, fishing, and being outdoors.

Dylan Crommett

Co-Owner
Construction Project Manager

Dylan Crommett joined Private Power Services in 2016 and worked side by side with Hector as the company grew. Over the years, he has developed a deep knowledge of the trade and discovered a career as a lineman is one he wants for the long haul. Dylan is known for his fast problem-solving and finding ways to make work more efficient and organized. He and his wife, Macey, welcomed their daughter Natalie in August 2024 and are expecting a son in June 2026.

We Stay Involved in the Process

A lot of customers come to us because they need more than fieldwork. They need someone who can help them understand their options, make sense of the process, and move the job forward with confidence.

That is a major part of what we do. We explain things clearly, guide customers through what comes next, and stay engaged throughout the project. Jozie described his role as meeting with customers, planning new jobs, and handling nearly everything planning-wise before trucks ever get on site. He is often the first person customers meet during a site visit, and that connection matters. He noted that while many conversations could technically happen over the phone, people appreciate having someone show up, walk the property, and talk things through in person.

That kind of personal involvement reflects the company as a whole. Customers are often working directly with an owner throughout the process, and that helps create the trust and clarity people want when making a significant investment in their property.
